Welcome to PIP Studio!

Pip Studio

Our Montessori classes gently guide families through childbirth, infancy, and the first three years of parenthood. You will gain a deeper understanding of how your child is developing, interacting with the world, and expressing themselves, and you will learn how you can better show up as their guardian to support their changing needs.

Knowledge inspires confidence, allowing you to enjoy these wondrous years fully. Classes run August – May and cater to busy schedules. Keep reading to learn more.

Pregnancy
Respiratory Autogenic Training Birth Preparation Classes

Respiratory Autogenic Training (R.A.T.) is a birth preparation method focused on breathing and deep relaxation that gives the mother control while also focusing on their mental well-being. Developed by Italian obstetrician Umberto Piscicelli in the 1970s, this method conditions the mind and body to relax, even amid uterine contractions. In collaboration with Dr. Silvana Quattrocchi Montanaro, an Italian medical doctor, and Montessorian, the method was expanded to prepare parents for birth and parenting.

Whether this is your first birth or not, your family can continue to use this method to achieve focus and relaxation throughout stressful moments in your child’s life.

Infancy
Parent-Infant Classes

Our parent-infant classes allow families to connect in a Montessori environment suited to infants' needs. Sit back and observe your babies interact in a safe, loving space where all parents are supportive.

The class allows time for formal observation of infants (similar to meditating with your eyes open), asking questions and discussing topics with the class Guide, and making connections with other families.

Resources are often available around the Parent Discussion monthly topics.

We offer:
  • 15 in-person classes per semester on Saturdays, from 8:00am – 9:30am.
  • Personalized consultations (in-home or virtual) are included, upon request.
Who should register?
  • Any family with an infant who is not yet walking (anywhere from a few weeks old through over a year old).

Parenting
Parent Discussions

Parents spend a great deal of time preparing for their child's birth and the period just after the baby comes home. Becoming a parent, however, does not stop there. The months and years ahead need as much – or more – preparation. Taking time to consider how we want to show up as a "Parent" and how this new role might transform us is essential. While knowledge and experience help, even second and third-time parents find their family unit evolving with the addition of another child; they must often reassess what they thought they knew about parenting.

The Parent Discussions offered by Montessori Children's House of Denver is a unique opportunity to connect with your infants and consider the kind of parent you want to be. Our monthly virtual discussions help parents think deeply about specific topics, observe changes in their babies between sessions, and take stock of their own transformation as parents.

We offer:
  • An informative workshop for parents of all ages led by one of our childcare experts.
Who should register?
  • Any parent(s) with the curiosity to deepen their parenting journey.
Topics we cover:
  • Observation and Preparing the Home Environment (2-month topic)
  • On the Move! Your Child’s Physical Development
  • Mealtime & Nutrition and Your Role as a Parent
  • The Amazing Absorbent Mind & Diving into the Holidays
  • Say it! Language Development and How Humans Adapt
  • Discipline, or Freedom Within Limits (2-month topic)
  • Looking to the Future: The Work of the Brain and What Development Looks Like Moving Forward
  • Free Choice: The final class will be based on the interests and curiosities of the cohort.

The discussions focus on children from birth through 3 years, as these topics also apply to a toddler's development
