Three Year Cycle

The Importance of the Three Year Cycle

Montessori provides a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive periods of development at different stages of life, such as the years between three and six when he/she can absorb information from an enriched environment and the years between six and nine when much of the information that was absorbed earlier is refined and expanded upon.

The entire program of learning is purposefully structured. Therefore, optimum results cannot be expected for a child who is withdrawn before he finishes the full cycle of each age grouping.

Third year students in each level of the program are given the unique opportunity to develop leadership skills and expand upon and refine their knowledge. This third year in each class is consistently the year that students come into their own, and truly shine both academically and socially.
