For nearly 25 years, the Montessori Children’s House of Denver has been a unique and very special authentic Montessori learning community that has made a difference in the lives of its students. Using the Montessori method’s specialized education techniques which were carefully designed to engage every child’s unique interests, the Montessori curriculum emphasizes not only the core studies such as: science, math, reading, and geography, but it also enhances the children’s minds with cultural studies, foreign language, garden and nature studies, and art and peace education, specializing in character development.
In the September 2006 Science Magazine, Angeline Lillard and Nicole Else-Quest published an article called Evaluating Montessori Education which explains the research that shows that Montessori provides scientifically proven advantages for its students, especially in the areas of improved executive function and more highly developed social and emotional skills in addition to the strong academic base that it provides.
